Good Morning Nature

This time we went to another park which has only a few ponds, but much much fewer people. This is what we call “Nature”.

Oh how we love the morning air!

It just feels so good!

Does it look like Fall season here?

Again we found pecan branches there… we checked everything and marked them, in turns.

Oh the park also has several creeks.

This one is along the trail. We didn’t get into it.

Actually we don’t like water much. Last time we swam only because mom was in the water and we were worrying about her.

My sister Angel, who believes she is the prettiest and sweetest of all.

But actually right after this she barked at some passers-by on the trail.

If you could look at Mom’s face then, she was SO embarrassed because of this!

And this is only one of my many tricks. Look at my ears!

Can you move your ears like this?

Mom was practicing with the water there…

I think, only this one, after some PS work, is OK.

We were very happy at the park though it was a short walk. Only a little bit more than an hour. But this is a new place so even a short walk is still of a lot of fun. Plus last week we got the result for Angel, so everyone was finally relieved and enjoyed the walk a lot!

We hope you also enjoyed the good weather over the weekend!

Snow White

I, Angel, also have my goal of life.

To be the prettiest.

(This is me asking mom to let me in and telling her I am hungry.)

Of course it is difficult. A lot of times you have to make the right decision in less than one second, and usually, right decisions are also the hard ones.

Can you imagine how many eskie-shakes, wiggles, rolls and kicks, and how much self-grooming it takes me every day?

Recently one thing really bothers me: I am not pretty any more. I don’t even have my full coat. And I look miserable with a startling pink patch on my face (and butt). Not to say that I am also in pain.

Mom told me it’s just temporary. We are still waiting for some test results and hoping for the best.

Well, as long as I will be pretty again!

For now, let me share with you some latest pics of Snow and me:

This is Snow posing for a head shot that is supposed to be similar to mine.

I think she is jealous of me, LOL.

Mom said this is Snow looking for me when I was alone at the vet’s.

She seems to be very concerned…

Thank you, my little sis. And don’t growl at me next time I eat your food!

This is me watching leaves falling down and listening to the wind.

This is me elegantly turning around~~~

and thanking you all for coming by!

We went to a lake on Saturday.

This place seems familiar to us, but it feels definitely different now without the summer sun! (Mom’s note: the girls have good memory! We went there once in late June – our first time – and it turned out to be a so-so experience. Both were very nervous and lost there.)

We walked and walked and walked, for a long time. Not sure about exactly how long, but we were very tired and hot~~ and until then, the sun gets irritating again.

We saw a lot of ducks! Of all different kinds and sizes! Some smaller ones just floated on the water, doing nothing, enjoying the weather. One of those big ones even tried to get closer for our treats! They’re not for you, Mr. Duck! Plus it’s meaty!

We also passed by a lot of dogs! Not very interested in them… so never mind.

We met even more people! All kinds of people! People in all different cars with four wheels, people on two wheels, three wheels, two wheels dragging a box with two wheels, two feet, two feet with four/eight paws like Mom, people in groups… Oh oh oh so many people!!! The most people we’ve ever met in our walks!!! Amazing! Where do all these many people come from?

Our favorite part of the walk is walking in the woods. Well, not really woods like what you may have imagined, as we could still see busy roads nearby and all kinds of people around; but we were walking in shades and there’re trees on both side of the trail~~ it feels so good! And there’re branches and leaves on the ground which remind us of our home! So sweet… We sniffed and sniffed them for a long time… (Mom’s note: they’re from pecan trees… we have pecan wood in our backyard)

These are us being tired after our first long walk.

Mom took the belt off me, opened the door and asked me if I wanted to rest outside, but I was too tired to move or jump out. – Angel

I think compared to my paws and body, my head is large. Though I was sleepy, I always knew that Angel’s mouth isn’t wide enough to contain my head. – Snowy

I know how to look cute even when I am sleepy.  – Snowy

I slept and slept, with my belt on. And I didn’t get tangled at all. Am I not a sweet girl! – Snowy

I slept with my ears pointed. I am always very alert! Oh and my leash matches the towel! Can you tell them apart? – Angel

Here are us fter some rest.

Can you see the puffy eye bag under my left eye? ARGH! – Angel

Thanks for checking our blog!

We hope next time we will share with you some real hiking pics!

Angel and Snow White

Grooming is Tiring

Mom just doesn’t understand this. But when grooming means standing for several hours while staying still, that is very tiring!

Do you think I can put Snow White’s head into my mouth?

She is just so tiny!

This is when we were waiting, oh, not for Mom, but for going out! 😀

Look at how smaller she is than me~~

Sorry, now back to my grooming… I always tend to forget what I was talking about.

I was so tired that once I got back home, I just wanted to lie there.

Have you noticed how my pants have been chopped off? So embarrassing… especially because now everybody can see my rust-stain-colored butt!

Anyway, I was nice enough to pose for Mom for quite a while~~

This is funny, as I think somehow I look shorter (I mean, length!) and smaller than before in this pic!

To be frank, I don’t think I am any different from Snowy even after the grooming. Or, errrr, maybe except my herbal smell. But you know, if you’re wearing that smell all the time, you cannot really notice it yourself.

So, I think, groomed or not, we are just always clean!

“Dog Day Afternoon”

There were SO MANY dogs in the water park today!

(I am so excited as I know how much they dislike bath tubs! And they are totally dumb while bathing… I was expecting possibly no fun at all but only distress/fear from water and too many strange dogs/people for them…)

Angel even DIVED once! Though she must have gotten more than surprised under water, as once she got on land she was such a snuggle butt! Anyway, she went across the pool (it’s called “Splashwater Harbor”) three times. Even Snow White did it once! (should I buy them an inflatable swimming pool next summer? )

You won’t believe that this is Angel only one hour after her brave dive… How can I reply to “they won’t be so white after they swim/ this doesn’t look like a dog who often comes here” with some sense of humor next time? I know they are just kind jokes, but I really wanted to tell them that Eskies are a very very clean breed, naturally!

Snowy didn’t dive but her rear was soaked in water!

Angel was so tired. She couldn’t believe how Michael Phelps could swim that much in a day and still win several medals! Angel, I hope you had a sweet dream!

Sorry, no pics of the real play at the park… my man, who planned to go together, had to work while the three of us had fun 😦 though I did try to shoot some myself.

First, a photo of other dogs in play~~ This place is called “Waikiki Beach Wave Pool”. There’re man-made waves! And on that blue platform across the pool there’s a live band!

There are also several funny canine contests today~~ I love the music during “Doggie Bulldover” game so much — “who let the dogs out (woof, woof, woof, woof)” — and the winner is actually a very agile Sheltie or Border Collie (my guess; but definitely a herding dog)! That dog knocked over the bottles precisely as the handler pointed to them. Very well trained!

Here is Snowy sunbathing. She had been walking in some shallow water~~ the sunshine was so bright! and I still didn’t quite know how to adjust that lens:(

We moved to another spot. Still sunbathing.

Now comes Angel, after her dive. Both I and another woman who was standing near were “shocked” — I still don’t think Angel had really realized what that “jump” would mean to her… She surfaced pretty fast. I am so proud of her!

Since I didn’t post as many photos of Angel as of Snow White in the past, here is Angel again. Oh in the right upper corner it’s Snowy, also tired out.

And in the left upper corner — we got two goodie bags of wonderful stuffs (as we pre-purchased two tickets for two adults)! Samples, coupons, and even a refrigerated food roll and treats (all human grade ingredients but for dogs — Wow, look at the pet food trend)!

Now I am looking forward to the winter — I mean if we will have snow… I really cannot wait to see how they will like it in the winter!

Eskie Night Portrait

I confess: I am possessed by Eskie’s facial expressions and poses.

And I had to take photos of this as I think Snowy is so cute to “hold” the chair leg to sleep…

last night I had to work late but with them lying by me I felt so motivated:) This is when Snowy was just waken up. Remember the look? This just-waken-up-confused look.

Now you can see how she “held” the chair leg.

This time she kind of knew what was going on.

Here is my favorite one. I stopped after I got THE picture. Hide-and-seek!

It may seem that I like Snow White more than Angel.  Well actually I personally think that Angel is better looking. Unfortunately she is camera-shy… Here she is.

She used to stay by Snowy. Once I pointed at her, she walked away and hid under the table so that there wasn’t even enough light there for the camera to focus on her!!! (as the background is much lighter so the camera auto-focused on the background~~~ and I don’t want to force her anymore.)

Canned Dog Food

This morning I was waken up by some metal sound.

I thought it was from fixing something. But still I decided to have a look.

Nobody was fixing anything. The girls were happily waiting for their morning pee at seeing me. Everything seemed right.

Except in the cabin where their food is stored, an opened (with still half of the food) can moved to the most inside, lying there.

Now I understood it all.

The girls were reaching for the can! Poor little ones…

This is Snowy after finally having her canned food. Enjoy the fresh, crispy morning air!
